Urban Road Safety Audit Guideline
This Guideline is prepared under the “Road Safety Management and Capacity Building Project”. Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA), Road Transport and Highways Division, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is the Client of the project. The Accident Research Institute (ARI) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), represented by the Bureau of Research, Testing and Consultation (BRTC), BUET carried out the key activities of the project as the Consultant. The project was inaugurated on 23 July 2020 and accomplished by April 2022.
One of the main objectives of the project is to develop the “Urban Road Safety Audit Guideline”. This document is the final version of the guideline. The guideline is prepared considering the well-established road safety audit practices from both developed and developing countries. This guideline has documented the road safety audit process, audit team, required tools for auditing activities, checklists, and few case studies. This guideline is expected to serve the tenant for local urban road safety audit activities from now on.
